The City of Manchester Department of Public Works (DPW), in partnership with contractor Indus, Inc., will begin micro-surfacing operations on Mast Road (from Varney Street to the city limit), Hevey Street (from Coolidge Avenue to Bremer Street), and Coolidge Avenue (from Bremer Street to Goffstown Road) beginning Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 30, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Parking will not be permitted on streets where temporary "No Parking" signs are posted during construction hours (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Vehicles parked in posted areas may be subject to towing at the owner's expense.
One-way traffic will be maintained throughout construction, and motorists should expect temporary delays, follow posted signs and directions, and seek alternate routes when possible.
Micro-surfacing is a roadway maintenance treatment that involves applying a thin layer of asphalt emulsion mixed with aggregate to improve and extend the lifespan of the pavement. This treatment will create a new asphalt layer of approximately 3/8 inch in thickness.
During the micro-surfacing process, affected streets will be temporarily closed to traffic to allow for the application and curing of the new surface. Residents are advised to park on the nearest side street prior to the scheduled start time to maintain access to their vehicles. Once the asphalt is applied, it requires sufficient time to dry and set before it can safely handle traffic.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the community’s infrastructure.
Sincerely,
Department of Public Works
Highway Division
