On Monday, May 18, 2026, MWW initiated a system wide hydrant flushing program in conjunction with a distribution system disinfectant conversion to free chlorine.  This common preventative maintenance practice helps to remove nitrifying bacteria in the pipelines and improve overall water quality in the distribution system.  With completion of the flushing program on June 26, 2026, MWW will convert back to its standard distribution disinfectant, chloramines, after the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 6, 2026.

If you have any questions about the conversion, please contact the MWW laboratory at (603) 792-2855.
